Bridge Builder Carpenter Foreman

Summary
The Carpenter Foreman position directs and leads a crew of hourly workers on a project and managing all aspects of their crew's work including safety, planning, production and monitoring performance, reports to a project superintendent.
Job Responsibilities
• Complete company required or regulatory documents such as DRA, JHA, Weekly Jobsite Inspection sheet, timesheets, etc.
• Supervise, mentor and coach craft personnel as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements
• Direct work of assigned crew to meet daily schedule
• Understand production schedule and adjust daily work to meet schedule
• Perform daily forecast of crew cost and production rate and report to Superintendent as required
• Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials and equipment
• Request material needed for scope of work
• Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work according to specifications
• Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures for craft personnel and subcontractors
• Present safety topics at meeting when required
• Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules
• Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties
• Coordinate sub-contractors onsite
• Maintains knowledge of DFJV’s company values and strategic plan
• Support published corporate policies
• Perform additional assignments per management’s direction
Supervisory Responsibility
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, applicable laws, and applicable Master Labor Agreements Rules. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplinary actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Min 8 Yrs bridge experience
• Experience w/Precast Girders
• Min 5 yrs Falsework Erection Experience
• Required Experience w/Integral and Expansion Bent Cap Form Work
• Required Experience w/Waterway permitting restrictions (1600/401/404 permits)
• Rigging and Signal Person Qualified
• Precast Panel Setting Experience
• Candidates must possess a clean driving record and a valid driver's license."
• Ability to understand elevations and grades when it comes to surveying
• Ability to read drawings, plans and specifications, and have general knowledge of construction procedures that will be assigned to him/her. (Able to read, navigate, and understand the general plans for the task)
• Good Attendance, dependable and punctual
• Knowledge of using and maintaining tools & equipment associated with job duties Proficient in the use of mobile equipment device used for timecard and documentation purposes
• Have knowledge of the Safety Program and ensure safety requirements are always followed. (PPE)
• Be familiar with several types of formwork and form systems
• Able to coordinate crew along with other trade crews as necessary
• Train, supervise and effectively communicate with the assigned crew members, delegate responsibilities in the field to crew according to priorities and plans.

• Aptitude in math
• Willing to work extended hours, nights, and weekends as necessary to complete the work as required or when allowed to perform such work
